International Students Invited to Experience Beauty, Taste of Traditional Korean Tea

In tandem with the Korea Foundation, The Korean National University of Cultural Heritage will be holding “Korean Culture Program for International Students in Korea: Korea’s Traditional Tea Culture” for 3 days from July 7th to 9th as part of a global educational exchange course.

Since its initiation in 2008, around 63 people have participated in the program, which aims to deepen international students’ understanding of Korean tradition while promoting human relations and cultural exchange among participants.

This year, about 40 international students and 10 students from the Korean National University of Cultural Heritage are expected to participate in the education course. Running under the theme of “the genuine beauty and taste of traditional Korean tea,” the program not only includes lectures on the Korean traditional tea culture and experience programs like “pottery” and “tea etiquette,” but also features a discussion section wherein participants introduce their own country’s traditional culture, share how they adjusted to life in Korea, and get a chance to discuss cultural differences with Korean students.

Any full-time, international student enrolled in a university in Korea may participate in the program. Sign-ups are from June 10th to 24th at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center.
